The Maps allow you to find artwork that depicts actual places in the United States, or locate the birthplaces of artists born in the US.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òReach the maps through the Discovery portal;
<\Break><\Indent 20> òOr by clicking on the Navigate button in the toolbar and then clicking on the Maps thumbnail.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òA map of the United States is displayed.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òEach colored region or state is a separate map; click to display it.<\Break>
Note: Alaska is not displayed and that some of the states are grayed out because none of the artwork on the disc depicts places in those states, nor were any of the artists on the disc born in them.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òThumbnails of artists and artworks are displayed.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òSome of the lines connecting thumbnails to their locations have a "dot" at the end, which indicates a specific location.
<\Break><\Indent 20> ò"Stack" arrows and counters, indicate more than one work of art or artistùclick on the arrows to shuffle through the stack.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òThe Enlarge tool in the toolbar enlarges any thumbnail for greater clarity without leaving the maps.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òDouble-click on a thumbnail to go to the Catalog of Artworks or Artist Biographies.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òDragging a thumbnail from the toolbar onto any Map screen, "snaps" to the appropriate map, if it is associated with a particular place in the United States.<\Break><\Break>
